except maybe the cheating contractor unless they are caught

Project Owners: You’ve been warned

Hiring the right construction contractor is hard to do under normal circumstances but doing so under public contracting laws adds another level of complexity. This is why we created the website.

2005

Savereski ran APS so poorly that, in 2005, NJDOL suspended the company’s contracting license and prohibited him and his company from bidding on public work statewide for an entire year.

Rather than learn his lesson,
Savereski tried to game the system by renaming his company:APS Contractors became APS Contracting, Inc.

It didn’t take NJDOL too long to catch on and, in 2006, Savereski and APS had their NJcontractor licenses revoked AGAIN, due to Savereski’s failure to disclose his involvement with APS Contracting, Inc.

2007

In 2007, after getting his contractor license back for the second time, Savereski and APS faced the first of a series of citations and fines for failing to abide by state affirmative action and Equal Employment Opportunity laws. Savereski and APS would be cited for failure to follow affirmative action and EEO laws again in 2012 and 2014.

2011

In 2011, Savereski and APS were fined tens of thousands of dollars for repeated failures to pay their employees and subcontractors and for repeatedly using unlicensed/unregistered subcontractors with infractions dating all the way back to 1998.

And on top of all this, Savereski and APS were fined by OSHA for serious health and safety violations EVERY YEAR from 2009 to 2016, inclusive.

2015

Savereski’s irresponsibility got so bad that, in 2015, he and APS were fired from building Union County’s $32 million family court building. The work Savereski did was so substandard that, according to an NJ.com report, another company had to be brought on to assess how much of APS’s work needed to be repaired or redone.

Repeat decertification. Repeat health and safety violations. Repeat problems paying workers. Is this who you want building schools in YOUR neighborhood?
